Grilled Chicken Breasts with Orange Jerk Marinade

I was looking forward to trying this dish, as we eat a lot of chicken and sometimes that can get boring. Unfortunately, Neither Bryan nor I liked this chicken at all. Lately, we seem to have hit a few of Rodgers’ recipes that just aren’t doing it for us.

In this recipe, the chicken is marinated in a mixture of garlic, scallions, hot pepper, the zest and juice of an orange, vinegar, soy sauce and herbs. The meat is then grilled or broiled. In the end, the chicken had a strange perfumey, yet medicinal taste. The orange overpowered everything else.

Speaking of spicey, how about healthy mexican food.

I don’t remember it being very spicy. We just couldn’t get past the weird orangey/mediciney taste.

We eat a lot of chicken too. I use to make Orange chicken that was very good. I was excited to se this topic because I thought it might be a good spin on that idea. I’m sorry to hear that it didn’t work. I thought you had found us all a new way to fix a standby ingredient. Besides the orangey taste, was it spicy?

Somehow the idea of soy sauce and orange together just leaves me with an awful image. It may be good but sure doesn’t seem like that it would be something you would put together in one dish. Of course I am one of those that now believe and chocolate and carmel should forever be together in all desserts. Trista’s fault.
